Chipset Section (North/south Supply Circuit) in Desktop Motherboard

Chipset section is provide requirement supply to GMCH (North Bridge) and ICH (South Bridge) (1.0 to 2.5v).It receives 3.3v/5v from ATX pin 1/2 and 4 and regulate it given to Bridges. It has 1,2 and 3 MOSFET , but present some Motherboard has Dual Channel

MOSFET.

Ok Condition

 Present Voltage on GMCH NPC Capacitor.
 Present Voltage ICH near NPC Capacitor.
 GMCH Heat
 ICH is normal heat

Faulty Condition

 No Display
 GMCH is not heating
 ICH is also not Heating
 No Voltage present on GMCH NPC Capacitor
 No Voltage present ICH near NPC Capacitor

 Diagnostic Card Show 00 code/RST LED high/low

Main checking point:

 Check chipset section supply Input and output, input present but no output then check MOSFET and PWM IC.

 If Chipset MOSFET show Drain to source beep ,then remove MOSFET check it , If MOSFET ok but same condition then remove PC capacitor and NPC capacitor, check it .if all ok but NPC capacitor show beep, which place on GMCH. Its means GMCH Chip problem Reball it.
